Therapeutic fasting.

During Covid19. Midterm report.

It’s always been that magic thing people talk about. A restart for the body, mind and soul balance. A cleaning of the body, to gain better health. It might be a way to find total peace and clarity, especially now during Covid19, where no one is moving and there is nothing to miss. The advice of staying home, take it easy and relax, for us, is already given.

Is fasting a transition to something new?
Is it some kind of threshold?

nature blooming whilst Covid19

WE decided to do the Therapeutic fasting after Buchinger.
WE are 5 people from our little community.

We started with 3 days of relief. Fruit salad for lunch and some vegetables in the evening. Coffee who wants to and some in-between carrot or apple snacks.
The next morning’s laxative was an exciting story. We had the same food for 3 days, but from now on our bodies react completely differently.

Urge to move, shivering bodies, nausea, sleepless nights and tiredness. But the feeling of hunger distinguishes.

What triggers renunciation in us?
How does it define itself in terms of food?

We are grateful for the nature that surrounds us and the summer-like weather. We enjoy the sun and our community. We are welding together. Little rituals for drinking the soup, consultations, exchanges make fasting easier for us. Thus, no one gets left alone with questions and decisions. Depending on how we feel, we practice Yoga, Meditation, Volleyball or do some evening walks together.

We find ourselves in this privileged situation of being able to renounce, because fasting is more than not eating, as it is very nicely described in an article by Jan Henne in GEO.

2 more days to come with no food. we are already looking forward to our first small meal. A South Tirolern apple. πŸ™‚

Yours, ZeBa

CLEAR SKY – Freedom or oppression?

How does it feel when you look into the sky?

I see a blue sky, within different shades of blues. Some clouds and some birds are introducing spring with their sounds. There are no vapour trails from the aircraft visible. The pure blue sky is with no human traces. I feel free but also caught. Something is clearly changing.

The situation affects our mind and body. Do we feel freedom or opression? Freedom for our mind, oppression for the body? Or is the clean air purifying our bodies and therefore making us stronger and more resistant to do what we want?

Is there a new dynamic and understanding evolving, that brings a different form of freedom and movement?

In one point we can be certain. The reduced air pollution is beneficial for our health.

“Air pollution, research shows, lowers our ability to fight off infections.” The article by Jamie Smith Hopkins discusses the effects and affects of polluted air in cities and industrial areas compared to the health of humans, in speciality lung problems.

Now, most of the companies and industries lowered their production, therefore the air quality should rise?

Will the situation change aswell in Alto Adige? And how?

How can we foster change?

Studies show, that in some regions the abrupt stop of our activities lead to a quick recovery of nature. We have to say that this is a state – we, as eco social designers, dreamed of. Just not under those circumstances.

But that’s where we are now. What can we do with it?

Our concern is, that everything will go back to β€žnormalityβ€œ when we mastered the crisis. But we think that if we can make a change now, we can be better prepared for the future, with all the new challenges that might come.

Can we foster a change?

A few articles we find worth reading dealing with the environmental change:
